9th Wedding Anniversary is Pottery for those that are traditional at heart.

Here is the official hit list! This might seem like a strange idea but it can be helpful for some. I worked in the flagship store at Elk the Label for many years looking after the ‘Ladies of the North’ with all their clothing and accessories needs. I found that a lot of women liked to ‘gently nudge’ their loved ones in certain directions for pressie shopping. That’s the most delicate way I can put that! This may not appeal to some, but it certainly did appeal to many, so here is my offering!

1st: Paper 2nd:Cotton 3rd: Leather 4th: Linen 5th: Wood. 6th: Iron. 7th: Wool. 8th: Bronze. 9th: Pottery. 10th: Tin. 11th: Steel. 12th: Silk

13th: Lace. 14th: Ivory. 15th: Crystal. 20th: China. 25th: Silver. 30th: Pearl. 40th: Ruby 45th: Sapphire. 50th: Gold. 55th: Emerald

60th: Diamond (last but not least!)

Some of the presents might seem a little dubious at first, as it's doubtful many people will dance a jig should they receive a gift of lace or china. But despite a few head-scratching selections, the list features a range of helpful, thoughtful and diverse gift ideas that can serve as a jumping-off point for shopping ventures. The truth is this handy guide can take the guesswork out of gift giving.

There are a lots of gift giving ideas in my range of ceramics. Crater tumblers can be given to the coffee drinker and equally served up with a favourite whisky to raise the bar of that little ritual. Cheese-platters suit everybody as does a great hearty Serving platter, or the thoughtful gift of a gold gilt edged Cake platter for all your important celebration will definitely put points in the love tank. A handmade oil burner is definitely an inexpensive and thoughtful gift, as is a carved mug. There is just something special about using handmade pieces in your daily life. I promise, it’s a mood lifter!
