Every ceramic ware within the Unearthed range is handmade by Preston-based artist Katrina Carling in her light-filled urban studio. Each piece is crafted with intention; carefully brought into being and created for many years of enjoyment.
My mission is simple - to make beautiful and functional ceramic wares that add richness and meaning to your life and the space where you make memories with those you love.
There’s a certain pleasure in the weight of a well-made bowl, in the subtle marks left by the maker’s hands. No two pieces are ever quite the same, each carrying its own story and character. My hope is that when you use my pottery, you feel the joy and intention that went into its making—a reminder of the connection between people, place, and the things we hold dear.
The work is shaped by the wild beauty of the Australian landscape—the shifting colours of the earth, the textures of stone and sand, the quiet strength of ancient landlines. Each piece I create is a response to this place, a way of bringing its spirit into everyday life.
The joy of using objects crafted by hand, purchased from the maker in this fast world, is simple and enriching.

Custom Orders
Work in collaboration with Katrina to design and produce a special bespoke piece or collection of ceramic wares.

Katrina is passionate about working in collaboration with clients to craft unique pieces that are completely customised to suit their spaces, preferences and needs.

The custom journey commences with a discussion around the client’s requirements. Katrina will provide guidance throughout the design process, leading an exploration of the aesthetic possibilities. A 30% deposit is required to commence a bespoke project, and the lead time for custom orders varies according to the nature of the item or items.
