Ten years of making ceramics…

It's now been 10 years since I started my wheel throwing classes and well, I kind of can't quite believe it. I listened to a lecture on productivity today and it asked me to rethink the boundaries of this idea...to rejig the social norms of 'always doing more= success'. It was focussed on working efficiently and taking valuable time to stop and pause and reflect on what has been achieved so far. So here I am. I chose the image above as it was from my most recent product shoot. It captures several things...a vintage bottle from a Berlin flea market that took some concerted effort to carry home and it reminds me of how I value ceramics. The candles are made locally by a business buddy who is always supporting my design choices, the artichoke reminds me of my first really creative photoshoot I did during covid that propelled me forward. Lastly the Boulder vessel. I chose this because I feel very proud of having made that piece of art from my mind, body and soul! It came from having free ideas in my studio and reminds me that anything is possible, and tomorrow is a new day.
