Bronze Seam Dining/Sharing commission

Inspired by the discovery of precious metal hidden within ancient rock formations, the Bronze Seam Plate explores the meeting point between strength and rarity. A rich bronze seam flows across the surface, evoking mineral veins revealed through layers of weathered stone.

Handcrafted from a blend of mid-fired clays, each plate develops its own unique character through subtle variations in texture, tone and form. Studio-made glazes in Bronze, Umber and Cracked Earth create a richly layered surface that recalls rugged landscapes, eroded rock faces and the quiet beauty of the natural world.

Both functional and sculptural, these plates celebrate the beauty found where contrasting elements meet, transforming the language of geology into a timeless ceramic object.

I really enjoyed doing this creative project. I was also able to complete a handbuilt oval platter ( after two failures) and a set of three individual sauce pots that were a lot of fun to create. Sending these babies off into the world with great love and I hope the new owners love them, and I thank them for the creative license they issued me with!
